Power Generation Rental and Bridge Power
How fast can USP&E deploy bridge power?
Some power needs cannot wait for permanent infrastructure. A mine starting operations before its grid connection is ready. A utility managing a supply crisis while long-term capacity is developed. An industrial site that needs reliable power during a transition. These are not edge cases in frontier markets. They are routine.
USP&E deploys rental power generation for short-term bridge requirements, medium-term operations, and emergency response. We mobilise quickly, install to engineering standards, and manage performance throughout the rental period. When the immediate need passes, many clients move into a longer-term O&M relationship with us. That transition is by design.
What we Deliver
Short-Term Bridge Power
Rapid deployment of generation capacity to cover an immediate gap. This includes emergency grid stabilisation, interim power during permanent plant construction or refurbishment, and disaster-response power where critical infrastructure needs to be restored quickly. USP&E has mobilised and commissioned bridge power within weeks of engagement.
Medium-Term Rental Operations
For projects requiring 6 to 24 months of generation capacity, USP&E structures rental agreements that include full logistics management, installation oversight, commissioning, and SmartPower monitoring throughout the operational period. The goal is not just to get equipment on site, but to ensure it performs to specification for the duration.
Power-as-a-Service
For clients who need generation capacity under a performance-based commercial structure rather than an outright purchase, USP&E can structure turnkey supply and operation under a Power-as-a-Service model. We supply and operate the asset and the client pays for the power it delivers.
Equipment Range for Rental
USP&E deploys diesel and natural gas generator sets, containerised units, and trailer-mounted mobile gas turbines. The range covers smaller industrial requirements through to utility-scale deployments. All equipment is inspected, commissioned, and monitored to engineering specifications regardless of the term or scale of the engagement.
Why choose USP&E for rental power?

We have deployed at scale, at speed, in the hardest conditions
In Togo, West African Power Generation (WAP&G) faced a national grid crisis following reduced power imports from Ghana and constrained gas deliveries from Nigeria. The grid could not meet demand and traditional infrastructure expansion would have taken years. USP&E was engaged to deploy two GE TM2500 mobile gas turbines under a rental model. Leveraging global stockholding and logistics capability, the units were mobilised, installed, and commissioned within weeks. Within that timeframe, 50 MW of reliable power was restored to Togo’s national grid. WAP&G confirmed that USP&E “demonstrated exceptional speed, professionalism, and technical expertise.” The rental engagement transitioned directly into a 3 to 5 year O&M contract.

Rental is the beginning of the relationship, not the end of it
Every rental deployment lays the groundwork for partnership. In Sierra Leone, USP&E delivered 16 MW of bridge power, transitioning to a full EPC and O&M engagement. In Mali, rental generation supported the Morila Mine during a plant rebuild phase. In Guatemala, USP&E provided bridge power support to Perenco Oil as part of a broader project execution scope. In South Africa, USP&E supplied and operated 3 x 1 MW rental units to keep the Elders Colliery project on schedule during implementation. The pattern is consistent: USP&E arrives fast, performs reliably, and earns the longer relationship.
Engineering accountability from day one
USP&E does not drop equipment on site and leave. Every rental deployment includes commissioning by qualified engineers, SmartPower monitoring integration where applicable, and a defined operational support structure for the duration of the term. If a client needs O&M coverage alongside the rental, we structure that into the agreement.
