Financiers and developers are not short of capital and sites. They are short of onsite power generation. Interconnection queues run for years, and behind the meter applications require GWs of new-build gas turbines that are simply not available from the major OEMs. The FX-45 provides a proven gas turbine package suitable for grid-tied, or BTM, applications and sized as standard 45 MW Simple Cycle or 135MW Combined Cycle power blocks. USP&E is the exclusive packager of the TG20 – a gas turbine family with over 300 units built and installed globally.

The FX-45 arrives as one complete package. USP&E integrates the gas turbine flange-to-flange with the rest of the packages.

Two FX-45 gas turbine generator packages, a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) behind each, and one steam turbine power block between them. Exhaust that would otherwise leave the stack, raises steam, so the same fuel produces substantially more power. As a data center power plant grows, the power output scales on the same steam island, and blocks repeat across a campus.

What sits outside the package battery limits
The FX-45 is an equipment supply scope. These items sit outside the package price: fuel supply to the battery limit, civil works, erection and commissioning, and step-up transformer to connect to the grid.

Inside the same USP&E team and alongside the engineers who package the FX-45, sits a dedicated center of excellence that Engineers, Procures and Constructs the power plant. Equipment supply, EPC, O&M and LTSA are contracted separately. This approach keeps the package price clean and lets you take only the scope you need.

Your Gas Turbine Questions, Answered
How long is the lead time for a new gas turbine?
New-build machines from the major OEMs are currently quoted with a delivery time of at least five years. The FX-45 is delivered in 18 to 24 months from slot reservation. Where a project cannot wait, USP&E separately supplies used and surplus gas turbines from existing stock. Assets already built and available as surplus or used stock can be relocated within a matter of months.
What are the emissions of the FX-45?
Dry low-NOx combustion holds NOx to 25 ppmv at 15% O2. Where a permit requires single-digit NOx, SCR is available under a separate agreement and is never included in the package price.
What fuel does the FX-45 run on?
Natural gas as primary fuel.
What is the difference between a gas turbine package and a gas turbine power plant?
A gas turbine package is the generating equipment: turbine, gearbox, generator, controls and balance of plant, delivered as one arrangement. A gas turbine power plant is the complete installation, including civil works, the step-up transformer, grid interconnection and fuel supply. The FX-45 is supplied as a package. USP&E can build the surrounding power plant under a separate EPC contract.
What voltage does the FX-45 generator produce?
13.8 kV for 60 Hz operation, 11 kV or 15 kV for 50 Hz projects.
What does the FX-45 cost?
Pricing is issued under NDA in a quotation, sized to your site, fuel and configuration. Send us your gas analysis, site location, frequency and voltage and we will come back with a budget figure.
Can the FX-45 be sited behind the meter?
Yes. The package terminates at the generator terminals and can be sited behind the meter alongside an existing supply, or connected to the grid through a customer-supplied step-up transformer and switchyard.
What happens after FX-45 commissioning?
USP&E offers a long-term service agreement and O&M contracts alongside the equipment supply, contracted separately from the package.
How many FX-45 units can I order?
The package is repeatable. Blocks repeat across a site and the last unit is identical to the first, so a fleet shares one spares pool and one maintenance program.
