Mitsubishi H-25 (64 MW), Ansaldo Energia AE94.2 (488 MW), Westinghouse W701DS (127.8 MW), Alstom GT13E2 combined-cycle packages, and Kawasaki M1T and M7A series complete the inventory. OPRA turbines are available for small distributed applications.
Aeroderivative vs Industrial Gas Turbines
Aeroderivative gas turbines are derived from jet engine designs and offer fast-start capability (under 10 minutes to full load), compact installation footprints and modular maintenance through engine swap-outs. Examples include GE LM2500, GE TM2500 and Rolls-Royce RB211.
They suit mobile deployment, peaking duty, mechanical drive and data centre primary or back-up power where speed-to-power matters. Industrial gas turbines are purpose-built heavy-frame machines optimised for baseload operation, combined-cycle configurations and long inspection intervals. Examples include GE Frame 9E, GE Frame 9FA, Siemens SGT5-2000E and Alstom GT13E2.
They deliver higher absolute power output (up to 500 MW per unit) and better efficiency in combined cycle. USP&E supplies both types across 1 MW to 500 MW capacity.
Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle and CHP
USP&E delivers used gas turbines for sale in three operational configurations. Simple cycle gas turbine plants generate electricity from a single turbine and generator, with efficiencies typically 33 to 40 percent. Fast to install, lower capex, ideal for peaking, mobile and emergency power.
Combined cycle plants add a heat-recovery steam generator (HRSG) and steam turbine downstream, recovering exhaust heat to drive a second power cycle. Efficiencies reach 55 to 62 percent. Higher capex, longer build, optimal for baseload.
CHP (combined heat and power) plants use turbine exhaust heat for industrial process steam, district heating or cooling, achieving total energy efficiencies above 80 percent. USP&E engineers and delivers all three configurations turnkey under EPC contracts.
Gas Turbine Power Plant EPC and O&M Services
USP&E delivers complete turnkey gas turbine power plants under engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, with typical delivery of 9 to 14 months from deposit. Our in-house engineering teams handle site survey, FEED engineering, equipment procurement, frontier-market logistics, civil and mechanical installation, electrical and instrumentation work, hot and cold commissioning, and grid synchronisation.
Beyond EPC, USP&E provides long-term operations and maintenance contracts for gas turbine plants, including hot section inspections, combustion inspections and major overhauls. Documented O&M results across active client sites include 95%+ availability in frontier-market deployments. ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified.

Gas Turbine Buying Guide
Buying a used gas turbine requires deeper technical due diligence than reciprocating engines. Key inspection points include: operating hours and starts (industrial frames are rated on equivalent operating hours; aeroderivatives count starts heavily because thermal cycling drives blade fatigue); time since last hot section inspection (HSI) and combustion inspection (CI); time since last major overhaul or “major” (typically every 24,000 to 50,000 hours depending on duty); borescope inspection reports of compressor and turbine sections; records of any blade replacements or root-cause failures; fuel system condition and dual-fuel capability; emissions compliance (DLE / DLN burners for NOx control); balance of plant (HRSG condition if combined cycle, transformer, switchgear, exhaust stack). USP&E provides documented condition reports with every Fast Quote response.

Gas Turbine FAQ
Where can I buy a used gas turbine for sale?
USP&E offers one of the world’s largest independent inventories of used gas turbines for sale. Brands available include GE, Siemens, Solar Turbines, Rolls-Royce, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Kawasaki, Ansaldo Energia, Westinghouse and Alstom. Power range covers 1 MW to 500 MW per package. All units are sourced directly from OEMs, banks, IPPs and asset owners with full documentation. No broker chain.
What is the difference between aeroderivative and industrial gas turbines?
Aeroderivative gas turbines (GE LM2500, TM2500, Rolls-Royce RB211) derive from jet engine designs, offer under-10-minute starts, compact footprints and modular swap-out maintenance — ideal for mobile, peaking and data centre duty. Industrial gas turbines (GE Frame 9E, Siemens SGT5-2000E, Alstom GT13E2) are heavy-frame purpose-built machines for baseload, combined cycle and long inspection intervals — delivering up to 500 MW per unit.
Where can I find gas turbines for data centres and AI infrastructure?
USP&E holds ready-for-deployment gas turbines specified for data centre applications, including GE LM2500, GE TM2500, Siemens SGT-800, Solar Taurus 60 and Solar Centaur units. These are available for immediate delivery, eliminating the 18 to 24-month OEM manufacturing queues on new-build units. USP&E also delivers full EPC installation and O&M for hyperscale, AI infrastructure and Bitcoin mining power plants.
What is the smallest and largest gas turbine USP&E offers?
USP&E’s gas turbine inventory ranges from 1 MW (OPRA OP16 class) up to 735 MW per unit (Siemens SGT5-2000E). Mid-size mobile units like the GE TM2500 (27 MW) and aeroderivatives like the GE LM2500+ (35 MW) bridge the range. For projects requiring greater than 735 MW from a single supplier, USP&E aggregates multiple units into complete gas turbine power plants under one EPC contract.
Can gas turbines run on dual fuel (gas and liquid)?
Yes. Many modern gas turbines are configured for dual-fuel operation, running on natural gas as primary fuel with diesel, kerosene or HFO as back-up. Dual-fuel capability adds operational resilience for sites with gas-supply risk. USP&E stocks dual-fuel-capable units including the GE Frame 5, Frame 6B and Frame 9E families, plus most Siemens SGT-series units. Conversion of single-fuel units to dual fuel is also possible.
What is the lead time to install a gas turbine power plant?
USP&E delivers complete turnkey gas turbine power plants in 9 to 14 months from deposit under EPC contracts. Mobile and trailer-mounted units (such as the GE TM2500) can be operational in under 90 days from order. Greenfield combined-cycle plants with HRSG and steam turbine integration typically require 18 to 24 months. New-build OEM gas turbines currently carry 18 to 24-month manufacturing queues at the major suppliers.
What is the cost per MW for a used gas turbine power plant?
Cost per MW installed for a used gas turbine simple-cycle plant typically ranges from US$500,000 to US$1.2M per MW depending on turbine age, condition, balance-of-plant scope, site logistics and grid interconnection complexity. Combined-cycle plants add US$400,000 to US$700,000 per MW for the HRSG and steam turbine. USP&E provides project-specific cost estimates as part of every Fast Quote response.
What gas turbine brands does USP&E stock?
USP&E stocks gas turbines from GE (LM2500, TM2500, Frame 5, 6B, 7EA, 9E, 9FA), Siemens (SGT-300, 400, 600, 700, 800, SGT5-2000E, SGT5-4000F), Solar Turbines (Centaur, Taurus, Titan series), Rolls-Royce (Avon, RB211, Trent 60), Mitsubishi (H-25), Westinghouse (W701DS, W-251-AG), Ansaldo Energia (AE94.2), Alstom (GT13E2), Kawasaki, Hitachi and OPRA. Stock rotates regularly.
Does USP&E offer EPC and O&M services for gas turbine plants?
