Case Studies: Engineering & Project Execution
Cement factory power station in Iraq
40 MW Cement Factory Power Station Delivered Fast-Track
THE CHALLENGE
A major cement factory in Mosul, Iraq required a 40 MW HFO power station upgrade on a fast-track basis. Cement production was behind schedule due to energy shortages. Global manufacturers were quoting 12 to 18 months for new medium-speed HFO engines, a timeline the client could not afford.
The Solution
USP&E deployed a team within days of the request to perform a factory acceptance test and then began work on designs, engineering, logistics, and next steps. With new HFO power station engines and auxiliaries already in stock, USP&E was able to deliver the exact solution the client needed with world-class engine efficiencies. We rapidly shipped the MAN 18V32/40 engines and auxiliary equipment to site.
The Outcome
The project was delivered on time, enabling the restart of cement production and supporting industrial recovery in the region.
